Discussion: Why are the records so important? Is it because they are made from gold? What does this teach us about keeping a journal?
Activity: Take 5-10 minutes to make a journal entry, or to obtain a journal if you don’t already have one. For those who can’t write, take 5-10 minutes to look at their scrapbook or to plan a scrapbook for them. Be sure to have a couple of people share what they wrote.

Last night the kids had a good time writing their own "record". They had friends over, and their friends had a great time too. We got some pictures of gold plates, and some pictures of the fun events that had happened that day. Even though some of the kids can write, mine was the only textual narrative. Obviously, the kids like to draw!
